Move beyond the “someday” thinking - start creating the career and life you actually want.

With effective coaching, you can stop postponing change and begin to take strategic steps to achieve your goals.

If you have found my website, you have probably been thinking about coaching for a while. What is it that you would like to change in your career or personal life? Whatever change you desire—it’s important to you. No one knows you better than you know yourself. And no one will care more about your career and happiness than you do. You didn’t get to this point in your life by happenstance. Why leave your career and happiness to happenstance?

We are all so caught up in the demands and responsibilities of our everyday lives that we often put off our desires to make changes.  We tell ourselves the same stories over and over:  I don’t have time, I can’t afford it, it’s not realistic, I let too much time pass, I am too old.

Whether you are an associate striving to move up in your law firm or you are a partner or lawyer of any age or stage looking for a greater leadership role, want to explore new career opportunities or want to balance your work and professional life...

Move beyond the “someday” thinking—start creating the career and life you actually want.

With effective coaching, you can stop postponing change and begin to take strategic steps to achieve your goals.

I’m Mary Frances Dean

I have been a lawyer since 1986. After 14 years in private practice and serving as in-house counsel, I decided to explore other employment opportunities that would utilize my legal background and experience.

,For the last 24 years I have provided charitable and estate planning services as a Director of Gift Planning at my community foundation and as a Senior Assistant Vice President in Advancement at a University.

After managing staff and mentoring many lawyers who wished to transition from law to other careers, I enrolled in a professional coaching program and became a professional coach in 2017. I am certified by the International Coaching Federation and have my ACC designation.

My background, as a lawyer who has maintained her law license and as a nonprofit executive, has given me a unique perspective and insight into the value of a legal education and experience and its adaptability to other career paths.  There are many coaches who identify as “recovering lawyers.”  While I understand that sentiment, I have no regrets in pursuing a career in the law.  I have loved my work, my clients, and my donors, and would not have altered my journey or traded my experiences for any reason.

My mission is to provide transformational coaching for lawyers seeking meaningful change—helping them navigate career growth, transitions, and life balance by leveraging their unique strengths and legal experience, all while staying true to their core values.
